Locomotion (The Unfinished Path) is Boris Camaca’s first institutional solo exhibition, presented by PLATO in Ostrava, Czech Republic. The exhibition is curated by Daniela and Linda Dostálková.

“French artist Boris Camaca explores movement in staged and visually striking photographic scenes. Thoughout the exhibition, the artist takes walking not just as a theme but also as a method of acquiring knowledge – as a fundamental bodily rhythm through which people form their relationships with space, time, and perception.

Walking thus becomes an aesthetic strategy and conceptual framework that expands the practice of movement beyond the boundaries of the image and into the sphere of memory, anticipation, and bodily experience. The solitude of the protagonists is here presented not as the result of oppression but as a space for introspection and transformation. It is presented to us through oversaturated images, colour intensity, and over-stylization, which transform this isolation into an imaginative scene. This staged intimacy is full of paradoxes – between sensuality and the grotesque, between comedy and tragedy – while bold theatricalization and visual saturation amplify this disjointed experience.”

Camaca is the co-founder of Télévision magazine, and his work has been exhibited at NıCOLETTı, Voiture14 and Art-o-rama in Marseille; Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery in Leeds; MuseumsQuartier in Vienna; and NADA Miami art fair. He co-authored the art book Jeeper Creepers, published by Goswell Road in Paris.
