Born in Copenhagen, Danemark
Lives and works in London, UK
Simone’s work celebrates and investigates women, fashion, the body, its form and eroticism. It very much comes to life through an ‘intimate’ play with her subject; what is revealed between the two of them and finally to the viewer. She aims to challenge conventional ideas on social behaviour and beauty ideals in order to show a different possible reality. Simone’s work is performative: it is a visceral experience where she treats every moment with care yet spontaneity. Through her work, she offers a different perspective to female sexuality, full of tension, resilience, kindness, humour and seductiveness. Simone’s current research is focused on fashion and the body as sculpture and fashion as painting, using found and recycled materials as well as investigating the body’s inner and outer shape in new ways.
